Southern Firearms Appraisals is an independent appraisal and evaluation service providing unbiased and accurate assessments of firearms, antique firearms and militaria. We specialize in providing clients with detailed reports for insurance, auction listing, estate settlement or for personal interests.

We offer various levels of appraisal services including the valuation of firearms, ammunition and air guns in their current condition as well as the evaluation of antique firearms and militaria. Our professional staff is experienced in evaluating pre-owned merchandise from all major manufacturers. We provide detailed descriptions and values based on market trends and our proprietary database.

Yes, we offer insured shipment through UPS on firearm appraisals at an additional cost. All appraised items will be shipped to a licensed federal firearms dealer (FFL) near you or directly to your home address if allowed by your state laws.

Appraisal reports usually take between 4-6 weeks depending on item availability, condition and complexity of assessment. Most appraisals will be completed within 3-4 weeks but in some cases, additional research may be needed or items may need to be examined by multiple experts before a final report is completed.

Prices vary depending on the level of detail required by our clients. Our basic appraisal starts at $150 for a short form report with general description and fair market value estimates for up to 5 items; however, we also have more extensive options with pricing starting at $500 for long form evaluations with digital images included.

We accept credit cards (Visa, Mastercard & American Express), checks/money orders and PayPal payments as payment methods for our appraisal services. All payments must be received prior to appraiser scheduling an appointment to examine the item(s).

Upon receipt of the final appraisal report each customer has 14 days to review their documents before making any changes or requesting a refund from us. If customers request refunds after 14 days they will only receive partial refunds which are subject to cancellation fees that cover initial labor charges spent preparing asset specific data collection forms used in every evaluation process conducted by our team members.

Depending on usage frequency it is recommended that collectors have their firearms reevaluated every year to adjust fair market value estimates accordingly; however gun enthusiasts who actively use their collections as well as new collectors who look forward increasing their collections should consider having their assets evaluated more frequently than annually.
