What does SEDE mean in EDUCATIONAL

Social Equity and Diversity Education (SEDE) is a framework for understanding and promoting equity, diversity, and social justice in educational contexts. SEDE provides students with the knowledge and skills necessary to understand and challenge systems of oppression, while also providing educators with the resources needed to foster an inclusive learning environment.

The purpose of SEDE is to prepare students and educators to recognize and dismantle oppressive structures that create disparities in access, opportunity, power, privilege, and safety. While SEDE might seem like something confined within educational contexts such as classrooms or organizations we operate within our everyday lives are impacted by systems of inequity – particularly those related to race class gender sexuality ability etc..
