What does SCLA mean in LACROSSE

The Southlake Carroll Lacrosse Association (SCLA) is a non-profit organization that was established in 2002 to promote and foster amateur youth lacrosse in the area. We strive to provide a safe, education-based activity for children of all ages in our community.

The SCLA has its own set of rules and regulations that all players must adhere to. These guidelines cover competition, safety, sportsmanship, team conduct, tournaments, leagues, and more. For specific information, please refer to our code of conducts page on our website.

All players who wish to participate in any of our programs must be registered with SCLA prior to tryouts or practices. They must also provide a valid birth certificate for all new players at registration and keep it up-to-date throughout their time with us.

You can register your child online via our website or by mail using the provided printable forms. Once you’ve completed the registration process, we will contact you with further information about upcoming tryouts or practices.

Our season typically runs from late January through mid-July each year. Practices may start even earlier depending on weather conditions and field availability so we encourage parents to stay informed about schedule changes throughout the year.

Yes! All players are required to have protective equipment including shoulder pads, rib pads (girls only), gloves, helmets (with mouth guards), arm guards, cleats/turf shoes and a lacrosse stick as well as other optional items such as goggles and athletic supporter (boys only). Yes! We host several camps and clinics throughout the year that promote skill development as well as competition among teams at various levels of play. Our coaching staff provides personal instruction combined with drills designed specifically for individual player needs.

Absolutely! We are always looking for dedicated volunteers interested in helping shape our young athletes into successful members of society through sport. Volunteer coaches will receive training and support while also having fun working with up-and-coming talent in lacrosse.

Tournaments require additional paperwork such as permission slips signed by parents or guardians before any team can participate in an official tournament game outside of league play games within the association itself which require documentation from both teams prior to playing each other.
