What does SCC mean in SOCIETIES

The Canadian Cardiovascular Society (CCS) is a national organization of clinicians, researchers and stakeholders dedicated to improving cardiovascular health and care in Canada.

CCS works to promote excellence in research and education, foster quality cardiovascular care and lead the development of clinical practice guidelines.

CCS actively encourages collaboration between different stakeholder groups such as healthcare professionals, policy makers, industry partners and patients. Through their initiatives such as the Strategic Innovation Fund, the Fellowship Program and their annual conferences they aim to facilitate dissemination of knowledge among experts across all levels of field expertise within cardiology.

CCS leads the development of evidence-based clinical practice guidelines through its Clinical Practice Guidelines Committee which reviews, analyzes and interprets available scientific evidence on specific cardiac diseases or conditions that have been identified by the membership as relevant to their practice. The committee also develops strategies for implementation within institution settings and evaluates guideline adherence measurement tools.

There are many ways for individuals or organizations to get involved with CCS such as becoming an organizational member or supporting one of their events or initiatives such as their conferences or fellowship programs.
