What does SAPAC mean in LAW & LEGAL

SAPAC stands for Sexual Assault Prevention and Awareness Center. It works to prevent sexual violence by empowering survivors, providing resources and education, and striving to end systemic oppression.

SAPAC provides educational programs on topics such as healthy relationships, consent, bystander intervention, trauma-informed care, gender-based violence, and intersectionality.

SAPAC offers direct support services for both on-campus survivors and members of local communities through counseling and advocacy programs. In addition, SAPAC also provides a variety of prevention services such as workshops on sexual assault awareness and support groups for those affected by sexual assault.

SAPAC provides a range of resources from information about domestic violence hotlines to assistance with finding legal services or understanding medical rights after a sexual assault incident. Additionally they often refer students to other departments such as UHS or Student Financial Services that may be better equipped to assist with certain needs such as medical bills or housing accommodations.

There are many ways you can get involved with SAPAC's work! You can volunteer at events like clothing drives or sign up to become a peer educator leading prevention workshops around campus. Students can also apply for paid positions like office assistants or peer educators in their individual college/schools/departments across UofM Ann Arbor campus.
