Amazon Alliance is a global network of organizations collaborating to protect the rights, knowledge and resources of Indigenous peoples. Our mission is to uphold the sovereignty of Indigenous nations, and create meaningful partnerships between Indigenous communities and the companies that produce or distribute products within their territories.

Amazon Alliance provides legal counsel for Indigenous nations on issues pertaining to their land rights, representation during negotiations with governments or corporations involved in resource development, public outreach, advocacy campaigns, capacity building support for community-led initiatives, research into environmental justice issues and more.

The organization was founded in 2021 but its mission has been decades in the making. A group of visionary Indigenous leaders from across the Americas have long sought solutions that would address not just legal concerns but systemic environmental injustices faced by their people throughout history and today. By uniting forces and trusting each other's expertise across countries, cultures and multiple languages, they are driving progress towards this shared goal at an unprecedented pace and scale throughout Latin America today!

We focus on strengthening the rights of Indigenous peoples living in tropical rainforests through legal defense initiatives such as securing access to traditional lands; participating in policy dialogues related to land management practices; providing technical assistance on sustainable use; disseminating information about awareness campaigns; researching resources related to resource extraction activities; engaging local communities; providing education opportunities; advising government institutions on indigenous affairs matters; advocating for laws protecting jungle inhabitants' rights; etc.

Yes! We believe working together brings strength - both internally among coalition members working together locally, regionally or nationally as well as externally fostering partners joining forces beyond borders! We coordinate with like-minded non-governmental organizations (NGOs), foundations and individuals around shared goals relating to human rights protection & conservation projects predominantly focused on tropical rainforest regions.

We do not directly provide project funding but can inform donors who may be interested in funding specific projects that are supported by our organization’s objectives. Furthermore we strive towards creating self-sustaining solutions which benefit communities economically while protecting natural resources sustainably.
