What does ROOTS mean in REGIONAL

Regional Organization Of Theaters South (ROOTS) is a non-profit organization that aims to promote and expand the reach of live theater within its region. ROOTS works to bring together regional theaters, local schools, community centers and other cultural organizations in order to build a collaborative network of theatrical art.

ROOTS provides its members with access to an extensive network of professional resources, mentorship programs, funding opportunities, workshops and seminars on best practices in the theater industry. ROOTS also advocates for greater diversity and inclusion in theater programming by providing advocacy campaigns, scholarships and other initiatives.

You can become a member of our organization either individually or as part of a collective (e.g., school theater clubs). We also accept volunteers who wish to help out at our events throughout the year– no prior experience necessary! Individuals open to traveling may be eligible for volunteer roles such as ushers at shows or assistants in stage management.
