What does RMCS mean in MILITARY

RMCS is responsible for providing maintenance, operation and repairs of all electronic equipment within their rating. This includes operational systems such as secure communication networks, radar systems, navigation systems and monitoring systems used by different departments aboard ships. They also oversee the development of new technologies that are related to their specific area.

Requirements for being an RMCS include having at least 18 months experience working as an E-5 or higher withing the Radioman rating, as well as completing specialized technical training as part of A School, C School and Advanced Training courses from either Service Schools Command Learning Center or Class "A" School.

The length of time it takes to complete each course varies depending on level of difficulty and prior experience; however, typically it takes between eight and twelve weeks to complete advanced training courses in radioman-related technology.

Upon completion of all qualifications needed to become an RMCS, they will be promoted to E-7 in rank. This is the highest rank that can be attained in the rated personnel ratings in the United States Navy.
