History of RBR

RBR was created by Chief Executive Officer David D'Onofrio in 2003 as part of a fund called Resource Opportunity Funds that he had established with the intention to invest in junior mineral exploration opportunities. Since then the company has grown significantly through asset acquisitions and organic growth. The firm currently owns more than 20 different mining-related assets and holds interests in 28 different properties across Canada and internationally.

Business Model

RBR’s business model is based on acquiring strategic mineral rights to develop high-value resources with the end goal being to generate returns to shareholders via increased commodity prices or cash flow from operations. To achieve this goal, the company invests heavily in research and development activities that aim to further understand regional geology while minimizing risk associated with potential underground operations. In addition, the firm engages both local stakeholders and Indigenous communities to ensure long-term success of its projects while helping foster economic development for surrounding regions.

Project Development

RBR focuses its efforts on projects located within the Abitibi greenstone belt which spans across parts of Ontario and Quebec including some areas near major cities such as Montreal, Toronto and London. The region features some of the richest gold deposits in North America along with other minerals such as nickel-copper ores, which are ideal for extracting copper or cobalt when processed correctly. By taking advantage of these resources RBR has been able to identify numerous targets for acquisition or development over recent years resulting in multiple successful project completions since 2003. These include several operated mines which have produced significant amounts of concentrate metals over their lifetime increasing operational efficiency and minimizing any resulting environmental impacts accordingly.
