What does AVA mean in VETERINARY

The Association of Veterinary Anaesthetists (AVA) is a professional body dedicated to supporting and promoting excellence in veterinary anaesthesia through education, research and clinical practice.

The AVA undertakes various activities to support its members and the wider veterinary community, including providing CPD opportunities on veterinary anaesthesia topics, offering lectures and seminars, conducting research on animal anaesthesia practices, organising conferences and networking events and offering guidance on best practice in the field.

Anyone with an interest in animal anaesthetics can join the AVA. This includes general practitioners with an interest in anaesthesia as well as university students studying for a degree or diploma in veterinary anaesthesia. Individuals who are already qualified as veterinary specialists may also become members of the AVA.

Membership of the AVA is open to all those interested in animal anaesthetics, with different levels of membership available to suit individual needs. To join you must complete an application form online where you can select your desired membership category. Once your subscription fee has been paid your membership will become active.

Upon successful completion participants will receive a certificate from the association that they can then use within their professional CV or portfolio.
