What does PMAB mean in UNCLASSIFIED

The Presbyterian Mission Agency Board (PMAB) is the administrative arm of the Presbyterian Church (USA). The PMAB serves as the stewards of mission engagement for Presbyterians around the world. It supports and assists congregations, communities, and individuals in building relationships through global witness and prayerful service.

The PMAB oversees a range of activities that support and promote mission engagement within the Presbyterian Church (USA). These include programs such as Witness to Transformation; International Peacemaking Partnerships; Global Exchange trips; requests for assistance from international partners; grants for global ministries; educational outreach initiatives; and collaborative efforts with mission partners in other countries.

There are many ways to engage with PMAB’s activities. Local churches can host events or workshops to spread awareness about mission opportunities available through PMAB. Individuals can participate in volunteer activities or become part of a trip sponsored by PMAB in order to serve directly at project sites around the globe. Through its wide range of programs such as World Exchange Ambassadors, Grant Making Programs, International Peacemaking Partnerships, etc., beneficiaries include families, communities, local farmers and entrepreneurs from various backgrounds across several different countries worldwide who are given access to resources they otherwise would not have access to without these projects being funded by PMAB.

Projects supported by funding from PMAB are varied but may include agricultural development projects including crop diversification, food security initiatives such as improving nutritional content in food items consumed locally, micro-finance schemes aimed at giving marginalized populations access to small business opportunities, social enterprise incubation services such as providing necessary capacity building for entrepreneurs who lack access to resources due to socio-economic constraints, disaster relief aid both immediately after natural disasters occur or aiding victims over longer periods when needed and more.
