What does PLRN mean in UNCLASSIFIED

A Pure Laparoscopic Radical Nephrectomy (PLRN) is a minimally-invasive surgical procedure done to remove an entire kidney and nearby lymph nodes. It involves making several small incisions in the abdomen through which the doctor inserts special instruments, including a video camera, to see inside the body. The diseased kidney is removed using these tools.

A PLRN typically has lower risks of bleeding and infection than traditional open surgery, as well as shorter hospital stays and faster recoveries. Additionally, patients who receive this procedure typically have less pain and scarring than those who undergo open surgery.
