What does PJN mean in NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS

The Peace & Justice Network of San Joaquin County is a non-profit organization that works to promote social, political and economic justice in San Joaquin County. We do this through public education, advocacy, coalition building and grassroots organizing.

There are many ways you can help support our work! You can become a member, donate to our cause, volunteer your time, or attend events and rallies hosted by our organization.

As an organization we focus on promoting civil rights, social justice and economic equity. We also work to promote equality for all people regardless of race, gender or orientation. Additionally, we advocate for fair employment practices and policies that protect workers' rights.

We host informational workshops, community forums and public hearings to increase public awareness about pressing social justice issues facing our region. Additionally, we co-sponsor rallies and protests advocating for civil rights protections around key policy issues impacting our county.

The network was founded in 2002 when members of several activist organizations joined forces to organize around local issues affecting their communities such as inadequate healthcare services and rising unemployment rates due to budget cuts etcetera.
