What does PGM mean in MANAGEMENT

Professional Golf Management (PGM) is the educational program offered by The Professional Golfers' Association of America (PGA). This program was designed to provide students with the necessary knowledge and skills to pursue a career in the management of golf courses, clubs, or other golf related organizations. The objective of the program is to develop and qualify individuals for successful careers in golf management which include retail sales, operations procedures, customer relations, facility management, tournament operations, public relations and marketing.

Students that successfully complete all of the requirements will earn an Associate in Applied Science degree.

Typically it takes two years to complete the required coursework for the PGM program. However, each institution offering PGM may have different requirements so contact your prospective school for more specific information.

To enroll in a PGM program you should have completed high-school level math and English classes as well as some related electives such as business or accounting classes. Additionally, many programs may require letters of recommendation or additional entrance tests depending on the institution.
