History

Palm Desert High School was originally established as Landau High School in 1964, under the direction of Andi Engelmann who served as the first principal. The surrounding community then voted to change the name to Palm Desert High School in 1965 after the city grew and more schools were needed in the area. Since then, PDHS has expanded its programs over the years, now offering courses ranging from A-G approved classes to AP Honors Courses. PDHS is also well known for its robust co-curricular opportunities including visual arts, music programs, athletics, clubs and much more!
