The mission of PAV is to create a shared vision to help unite Virginians across lines of geography, age, race and class as they strive to protect their diverse built heritage. The Alliance seeks to increase public awareness of issues affecting historic preservation in the Commonwealth; actively advocate for appropriate legislation; provide educational materials and programs; offer technical advice; promote economic benefits of preserving our historic structures; preserve archaeological sites; foster support for endangered landmarks; and recognize exemplary projects which reflect an appreciation for the past.
