What does PAPA mean in ASSOCIATIONS

PAPA stands for the Piedmont Antique Power Association. It is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the preservation, appreciation, and study of antique power equipment. We are an active community of collectors, restorers, and enthusiasts who share a passion for antique engines and tractors.

Becoming a member of PAPA is easy! Simply visit our website at www.papa-nc.com to download and complete the membership form. After you have filled out the form, mail it with your payment to our address located on our website or bring it to one of our events. Once your membership payment is processed, you will be welcomed into our enjoyable society!

Our members have an interest in all antique power equipment from tractors to stationary engines and even including antique agricultural implements made before 1965. We welcome all makes and models from any manufacturer with an emphasis on vintage garden tractors such as International Harvester or John Deere.

Yes we host a number of events throughout the year which provide great opportunities for members to come together and share stories about their favorite antiques or participate in educational seminars about specific pieces of equipment or popular restoration techniques. These events provide plenty of time for socializing amongst fellow members so please check out our calendar online for specific dates/times!

Absolutely! We highly encourage new restorers learn proper techniques before beginning projects so that they can ensure authentic restorations while preserving the historical integrity associated with each piece of equipment. Our experienced members are more than willing to teach newcomers what they know through seminars during certain events as well as individual classes that focus specifically on restoration techniques.

Of course! We strongly encourage families to attend since many children show interest in these beautiful old machines early-on in life so we often offer family-friendly activities during certain events that allow kids to explore these pieces without disrupting other members' activities. Additionally, during some shows we may offer kid friendly activities such as tractor pulls where children can drive their own miniature tractors under safe supervision.

There is no specific age requirement (everyone from 0 - 100+ are welcome!) However we do suggest that Adults accompany minors at all times since some activities require adult participation due to safety concerns.
