What does ASTT mean in SOCIETIES

The Autistic Society of Trinidad and Tobago (ASTT) is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing support for individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and their families. ASTT provides information, referrals, training, education and advocacy on behalf of the families of people with ASD in Trinidad and Tobago.

ASTT helps those affected by autism in a variety of ways. It offers educational resources, information about support services such as counseling, access to events for children with autism, as well as parent support groups. Additionally, ASTT works to raise awareness about autism in the community through public events, outreach programs, and social media campaigns.

ASTT offers a variety of activities for people with autism as well as their families. This includes workshops on topics such as behavioral strategies; social skills groups; sensory playgroups; music therapy; cooking classes; field trips; art therapy sessions; recreational activities such as swimming lessons; parent education initiatives; awareness campaigns; conferences featuring professionals from around the world working with autism-related issues; financial planning seminars for parents caring for an individual with autism, etc.

Yes. ASTT has a vast resource library providing up-to-date research materials from international organizations focused on successful interventions used to manage behavior issues associated with ASD. The society also has a dedicated team that provide individualized case management assistance to assist parents in locating the services they need based on their individual needs assessment.

No. Although guidance counseling can be incredibly beneficial to those affected by autism or related disorders, it is not offered onsite at the Autistic Society of Trinidad & Tobago's offices or locations. However, there are several professionals both within our local community and abroad who specialize in providing mental health support specifically tailored towards individuals living with ASD.

Yes! Everyone is welcome at any one of our meetings hosted throughout the year regardless if you’re directly affected by Autism or not but please be mindful that additional guidelines may be imposed depending on the nature/content discussed within each meeting or event.
