What does PACR mean in UNCLASSIFIED

PACR stands for Professional Accreditation of Conservator Restorers which is a voluntary procedure of recognizing individuals who have met the requirements and criteria set by PACR in order to become professionally accredited conservators/restorers.

Being a Registered Practitioner with PACR provides peace-of-mind to employers, clients, and other professional bodies that you have been assessed as meeting expected standards within your field. It also allows potential employers or customers more assurance when looking at hiring or engaging with someone who holds such status.

In order to become a Registered Practitioner, applicants must provide detailed information on their qualifications and experience, areas of expertise, specialist skills related to conservation/restoration, portfolio evidence for review by trained assessors. They must also agree to comply with specific codes of conduct as outlined by PACR's guidelines.

Your RP status needs to be renewed every three years in order for you to remain as an actively registered practitioner with PACR. This renewal requires providing updated details on your qualifications, experience and portfolio evidence alongside providing confirmation you still uphold adherence with all codes and conduct listed within our guidelines.

If your registration application is declined, then there will be an opportunity for an appeal process where further information about why your registration has not been successful can be discussed between yourself and a member from the Registration Board team. The Board will then consider reviewing its decision based on any additional evidence presented during the appeal process.
