What does ASSRT mean in AFRICAN

African Society of Scientific Research and Technology (ASSSRT) is a non-profit organization which strives to promote scientific research and development on the continent of Africa. It was established in 2020 with the aim of harnessing the potential of the African scientific community to bring about meaningful progress in fields such as medicine, technology, engineering, art and culture. We focus our efforts on researching, educating, and supporting initiatives that can positively impact African society.

Our primary objectives include promoting collaborative research among scientists from different disciplines and backgrounds across Africa; facilitating access to technological resources; providing support for innovative projects related to science and technology; developing new skills in Africa's youth through education programs; encouraging public engagement with scientific research; strengthening relationships between partner institutions; and increasing awareness about science related topics in the general public.

We rely primarily on donations from individuals and organizations interested in furthering scientific development in Africa. We also seek out grants from various foundations that support our mission. In addition, we accept sponsorships from corporations or other entities wishing to financially support our initiatives.

Our members are based both inside Africa and outside it. We have members from countries like Kenya, Nigeria, Senegal, Ghana, South Africa, Tanzania etc., as well as many European countries. Although our main focus is on developing countries within Africa, we do take into consideration members from outside of the continent as well since we believe that everyone should be allowed to contribute to the development of African science.

Yes! We frequently organize events related to science & technology within the continent of Africa such as webinars discussing groundbreaking research findings or seminars focused on technology transfer among African nations. Additionally, we offer funding opportunities for those wishing to attend international conferences related to their field of study.

There are several ways you can participate in and engage with the organisation! You can become an active member by joining one (or more!) of our committees dedicated to particular aspects of scientific research or applying for one of our fellowship programmes aimed at supporting young researchers wanting to pursue a career in this field. Alternatively you could consider donating funds or resources to assist with our activities.

We attempt to foster creativity by organising competitions where innovators compete against each other based off their cutting-edge ideas within various industries including healthcare, agriculture etc.. Additionally we provide mentorship opportunities for those interested in taking their projects further as well as offering assistance for obtaining start-up funding and networking assistance for connecting with contacts who could be beneficial towards business growth.
