What Does OOB Mean In Computing?

In computing, the OOB protocol enables devices to communicate with an external server outside of the primary data stream. With OOB messaging, a device can send messages out or receive messages from an external server without disrupting or interfering with the main data stream.

OOB communications can be either unidirectional (sending messages only) or bidirectional (sending and receiving).
