What does ASPA mean in ACCOUNTING

The Associate of the Society of Practising Accountants (ASPA) is a membership organisation which focuses on supporting, developing and promoting professional accountants. The Society provides access to a network of experienced professionals and technical resources to assist members in their studies and career development.

To become an ASPA member, you must first successfully complete the 8 compulsory modules that make up the society's Core Programmes. Once these have been completed, you can apply for membership with the society directly through their website.

There is no age limit for joining ASPA as long as all other requirements are met. However, members under 18 years old would need parental consent to join.

The cost for annual membership is £135 + VAT per annum, with additional subscription fees for each additional module taken (£80 + VAT).

Members must renew their membership every year in order to stay up-to-date with the most recent advances in accounting practices and regulations. Renewal usually takes place at the same time each year.

Continuing professional education is required in order to maintain your status as an active member of ASPA. This entails attending events such as conferences or seminars, or participating in online courses related to accounting topics over the course of each year.

The 8 core modules offered by ASPAs include Financial Accounting, Commercial Law and Corporate Governance, Taxation, Business Economics, International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), Company Secretarial Practice & Corporate Law Tax Planning & Financial Planning and Audit & Assurance Skills.
