What OHS means

Oswego High School (OHS) is a premier secondary institution located in Oswego, New York. It offers programs for students in grades nine through twelve that include courses on every subject imaginable as well as state-of-the-art extracurricular activities and sports teams. Some of the classes offered are Advanced Placement (AP) classes such as English Literature and History, along with many other challenging courses designed to prepare students for success in college and beyond. The school also provides many hands-on learning opportunities through internships, field trips, service projects, and clubs to ensure that all of its students have the educational experiences they need to thrive in their future endeavors.

In The Community

OHS has firmly established itself within the Oswego community since its founding in 1951. Located directly supportive of Lake Ontario, OHS provides access to a vast selection of recreational activities for residents young and old alike. Events such as athletic competitions, theatrical performances, art shows, summer music concerts at Kiernan Plaza Park, and various other events keep community members engaged throughout the year. OHS proudly encourages civic engagement from its student body by providing the opportunity to participate in various service projects throughout Oswego County including soup kitchens run by local churches and animal rescue organizations dedicated to preserving wildlife habitats within upstate New York's Finger Lakes region.
