History

The NCAC was founded in 1972 by three Chapel Hill swimming coaches who wanted to create an organization dedicated to helping young swimmers reach their highest potential. Since then, the team has grown significantly and now consists of nearly 130 swimmers ranging from age 6 to 18 spread across five locations in the Triangle area of North Carolina. The athletes compete in six different age divisions during short course (25 yards) and long course (50 meters) seasons each year. The organization also offers a wide variety of services such as stroke clinics, coaching education classes for parents and guardians, strength training workshops for swimmers, pool rental facilities, social events for athletes and families to gather together outside of practice times.

NCAC strives to provide an environment where its athletes can reach their fullest potential both athletically and personally.
