What Does NBI Stand For?

NBI stands for National Bureau of Investigation. As stated above, it is a national law enforcement agency of the Philippines tasked with investigating both local and international crimes. It has several departments that specialize in different areas such as cybercrime, human trafficking, drug-related crimes, economic crimes, public corruption, organized crime syndicates, weapons smuggling, espionage/counterespionage activities and environmental crimes. The NBI also functions as an intelligence agency that gathers intelligence on criminal activities operating within the country. In addition to this role, they also provide support services to other law enforcement agencies in carrying out their investigations and prosecutions.

What Is NBI's Purpose?
