Description

The MRWA is a public body that operates on behalf of the five Merseyside local authorities; Liverpool City Council, Sefton Borough Council, Wirral Metropolitan Borough Council, Knowsley Metropolitan Borough Council and St Helens Borough Council. The MRWA's core mission is still focused on reducing waste and pollution while promoting resource efficiency within Merseyside's borders. It provides advice and guidance to local businesses and residents on how best to recycle, reuse or dispose of their waste safely while helping them enhance their environmental performance. Though its name has changed the MWDA/MRWA continues to deliver important waste management services across all five boroughs. This includes operating Household Waste Recycling Centres (HWRCs) where residents can take certain types of household waste for disposal; running domestic recycling collection services as well as providing educational workshops for children about recycling. Moreover, the MWDA/MRWA is also responsible for managing bulky household items such as mattresses or furniture along with business collections from large companies that generate much higher waste than regular households do.

Final Words:
In conclusion, though its official name has changed from MWDA to MRWA in December 2011 due to technological advancement in waste disposal industry, its core principle remains consistent; reduce pollution levels by promoting resource efficiency throughout Merseyside region through effective management of all types of wastes being produced within its boundaries. The MRWA will continue to play an integral role in protecting our environment while keeping our local communities clean and safe places to live in.
