What does ACTO mean in ASSOCIATIONS

The Association for Counselling and Therapy Online (ACTO) is an international, non-profit organisation established to promote, support and advance online counselling and therapy training. ACTO offers accredited qualifications, CPDs, training courses and resources to its members which include individual counsellors, therapists and other professional practitioners from across the world.

ACTO provides a range of services designed to equip members with the skills they need to develop their practice in online counselling and therapies – from basic foundation courses right through to clinical supervision qualifications. They provide a wealth of resources including training videos, templates, handouts and more that can be used by practitioners in their work.

Yes – ACTO offers accredited postgraduate level qualifications in specialist areas such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) or Integrative Counselling. These qualifications are delivered over a series of modules, allowing qualified practitioners to enhance their knowledge base in specific areas at their own pace.

Yes – joining ACTO is currently free providing you meet the eligibility criteria set out on their website. Membership includes access to all available resources and ongoing support from experienced professionals within the organisation.

You can easily book onto one of our courses via our website – simply log into your account using your email address and password then select the course you would like to attend from those available. Payment for courses can be made securely online by credit/debit card or PayPal.

Yes – all of our qualifications can be completed entirely online without having to travel or attend face-to-face sessions if that is your preference. This means you have flexibility over when you study, making them ideal for those who have busy schedules or other commitments that make attending classes difficult.

Our fees vary depending on the size of your course so it’s best to check our website for exact prices before booking a course. All payments must be made at least 7 days prior to the start date of the course otherwise we reserve the right to cancel your booking without refunding any fees paid up until that point.

Yes – you don’t have to be registered with another professional body in order to become an ACCT member but some additional paperwork may be required before you enrol on a programme if this is the case.
