What does MPN mean in HOSPITALS

Myeloproliferative neoplasms (MPN) are a group of rare stem cell disorders in which the body produces too many white blood cells. People with MPN typically experience fatigue, weight loss, and an increased risk of infection and bleeding.

The exact cause of MPN is unknown, though scientists believe that certain genetic mutations may be responsible. These mutations can cause overproduction of white blood cells, as well as an inability to stop producing them when no longer needed.
