What does MLNA mean in ACADEMIC & SCIENCE

Mexican Labor News and Analysis (MLNA) is a non-profit organization that provides news coverage and analysis of labor issues in Mexico. Our mission is to serve as a resource for understanding labor issues in Mexico, and to provide support to workers who are struggling for fair wages and safe working conditions. We strive to provide a space where labor voices can be heard, giving workers a platform to organize and engage in collective action.

MLNA works closely with unions, grassroots organizations, international partners, academics, and other stakeholders from the community. We seek to build bridges between various facets of society – both in Mexico and around the world – to foster solidarity around labor rights.

MLNA gathers information through direct contact with affected communities on the ground as well as through research of published material from Mexican media outlets. Our experienced team also maintains close ties with local activists, academics, civil society groups, international institutions & agencies, government agencies as well as individual experts in relevant fields.

MLNA produces original journalistic-style content that dives deep into important labor issues facing Mexican workers today. The internship program at MLNAS offers students an opportunity to gain first-hand experience researching topics related to the political economy of contemporary Mexico while learning critical data analysis skills--researchers accepted into this program will conduct fieldwork within small communities throughout Southern Mexico gathering data on labor rights abuses firsthand while gaining valuable professional insights into negotiation tactics commonly employed among union organizers.
