What does MIM mean in PHYSIOLOGY

The Multilateral Initiative on Malaria (MIM) is a global network of research institutions, non-governmental boards, and governments committed to eradicating malaria by develop effective control strategies utilizing the most recent scientific knowledge available. MIM works to ensure that research findings are effectively communicated and used in decision making processes while also advocating for increased resources and coordination across different scales of interventions.

The MIM comprises an international network of government ministries, intergovernmental organizations, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), academic institutions, donors, UN agencies, the private sector and community-based groups. These stakeholders come together from around the world to share knowledge and experience in order to improve malarial vector control programs and treatments worldwide.

MIM focuses on developing collaborative projects highlighting priorities in malaria control including vector surveillance and insecticide resistance management; operational research; capacity building; entomology; malaria diagnostics; parasitology; epidemiology; health systems strengthening; information management systems; communication for change; social mobilization; resource mobilization and advocacy.
