What does MFF mean in UNCLASSIFIED

The main purpose of MFF is to provide a rapid response capability which is able to swiftly move resources around depending on the situation or event. This could be anything from dealing with protests, maintaining public order, responding to terrorist incidents or supporting other agencies such as police and medical services.

Depending on how close they are located to the incident, it can take anywhere from minutes or hours for them to arrive. In some cases, they may even be staged ahead of an anticipated incident in order to reduce their response time.

The composition of every MFF unit varies depending on its operational requirements. However, typically these teams consist of members from national guard units, police forces and paramilitary units such as riot police or special forces personnel.

They operate according to rules set out by the organization they belong too, generally dividing into groups that have different roles including containment, crowd management and dealing with potential suspects. Each team member is assigned specific tasks that enables them work together effectively under chaotic circumstances.

The type of equipments carried depends on their mission but usually these teams come armed with non-lethal weapons such as batons and pepper spray. Additional items can also include body armor, shields and protective helmets as well as communications devices for fast communication between team members.
