What does MFA mean in FARMING & AGRICULTURE

The primary goals of the MFA are to encourage and promote agriculture in Missouri, provide resources and education regarding best practices in agriculture, educate farmers on new technologies and trends, protect farmers' rights, and promote rural development.

Membership is open to any individual involved in or interested in agriculture or agricultural production within the state of Missouri. This includes growers, producers, agriculturists, suppliers, educators, policymakers, and consumers.

The MFA serves its members through advocacy efforts at both local and national levels; by providing resources such as educational materials, weekly newsletters, social events, conferences and workshops; by connecting members with other organizations related to agriculture; and by giving general advice about agricultural production methods.

The MFA runs several programs designed to benefit those working in or connected with agriculture. These include econometric analysis services which provide marketing assistance to growers; regional data centers which collect research on regional crop production; resource centers geared towards helping small farms succeed; mentor programs matching junior farmers with experienced farmers; scholarships for people pursuing degrees related to farming or agribusiness management; and grants for innovative projects related to conservation or sustainable farming practices.
