What does MAM mean in MEDICAL

MAM stands for Moderate Acute Malnutrition which is a form of malnutrition in children that occurs when a child's weight is below the normal range but not low enough to cause severe acute malnutrition (SAM).

MAM can be caused by inadequate dietary intake or other underlying health conditions, such as infectious diseases, leading to inadequate nutrition and nutrient absorption. In some cases, it can be caused by poverty and lack of access to adequate food supplies.
