History
Clover Field Airport first opened its doors in 1941 during World War II and was initially used by the United States Navy until 1944 when ownership transferred to the city of Houston. The airfield then went on to become a commercial airfield in 1950 and started accepting civilian flights from all major airlines serving Houston at that time. Since then, LVJ has gone through expansion work which includes multi-level parking garages, additional runways and an international terminal.
