What does APQA mean in ANIMALS

The Animal and Plant Quarantine Agency (APQA) is a federal government agency tasked with protecting Australia from exotic pests, diseases, and harmful weeds. This includes inspection of goods and other objects to ensure they don't contain any things that could cause harm to Australia's wildlife or environment.

APQA implements strong quarantine regulations to prevent the spread of disease. Inspection of goods coming into Australia ensures that nothing harmful is brought in which may contain pests, diseases or anything else that could harm local wildlife. We also inspect domestic animals for signs of contagious diseases.
