How it works

LSCP uses two layers - the Data Layer, which transports data packets between two nodes on the network; and the Control Layer, which manages connections between nodes by performing handshakes, authentication, congestion control and route selection. The Data Layer uses UDP or TCP to transfer the data packets efficiently but with slightly higher latency than other traditional protocols like FTP or HTTP. The Control Layer handles connection establishment, management and termination by using regular messages such as Hello, Handshake and Goodbye. This layer also performs authentication for security purposes.
