History
The Kalinga Provincial Police Office (KPPO) was established by virtue of Republic Act No. 8181 on June 19, 1973. The purpose of this act was to reorganize the police force in Kalinga Province and create a team that would be capable of responding quickly to any criminal activity that occurs within its jurisdiction. Since then, the office has been active in responding to criminal activities such as robbery, theft, illegal drugs distribution, human trafficking and other violations against public order and safety.
Function
The primary purpose of the KPPO is to provide security services to protect people's lives and properties from harm or danger. This includes patrolling areas, investigating crimes, apprehending suspects and issuing warnings or orders when necessary. For example, if an incident occurs such as a burglary or theft - KPPO's personnel will investigate it thoroughly in order to identify suspects involved in the crime and their possible whereabouts. By doing so they are able to help prevent similar occurrences from happening again in the same area or vicinity by putting preventive measures into place such as increasing patrols or even setting up CCTV cameras if necessary. Additionally, they also have a range of specialized teams which focus on specific areas like cybercrime or organized crime.
Impact
The work conducted by KPPO focuses on making sure that people feel safe when they move around town or live their everyday lives without fear of criminal activity occurring nearby. As part of these efforts they strive hard to reduce crime rates within their jurisdiction by focusing not only on catching those who commit crimes but also finding ways to prevent them from happening again through proactive initiatives such as raising awareness among citizens about criminal activities that occur around them or running campaigns against drug abuse etcetera which can help reduce chances for related issues arising amidst communities extremely prone towards violence due to these substances being easily available everywhere off late.
