History
KERO TV was originally founded in 1984 by former Los Angeles Times executive Ronald G. Robinson and two other partners under the name of Valley Television Network Incorporated (VTN). Its original frequency was channel 21 with designated market area (DMA) coverage mainly focused on Kern County. After its initial launch, the station gradually added more affiliates and expanded its reach further into the Central Valley over time. By 2007 VTN had upgraded their digital signal to broadcast Channel 23 which increased their range even further across the region all the way up to Fresno County. In 2011 VTN changed their company name from Valley Television Network Incorporated (VTN) to KERO Broadcasting Corporation (KBC).
