What does AAPU mean in POLICE

The Attleboro Auxiliary Police Unit is a volunteer police force that helps the Attleboro, Massachusetts Police Department in providing community services. The Auxiliary Police Officers fulfill public service tasks including assisting with search and rescue operations, helping with special projects, traffic and crowd control, and much more.

All Auxiliary Police Officers undergo training in basic police procedures and first aid techniques. They also get training for responding to emergencies such as fires or natural disasters.
