The Jim Pattison Group comprises approximately 450 companies with 40,000 employees spread over 28 different industries in four divisions: automotive (automobile dealerships), media (publishing, broadcast television and radio stations), food (food processing and distribution) and packaging (manufacturing/retailing). Some notable brands that are part of this group are Save-On-Foods, Bimbo Bakeries USA, Diversey Care LLC., Kubota Canada Ltd., Ocean Park Ford, Genesis Motors Canada Inc., West Coast Reduction Ltd., Suburban Communications Corp./Suburban Newspapers Ltd., Roy Foss Motor Group as well as many more.

Jim Pattison has donated millions to various causes throughout his lifetime ranging from local charitable organizations to international initiatives. For example, he has donated large sums to BC Children’s Hospital Foundation along with establishing the BC Children’s Hospital Research Institute; contributed multiple million dollar donations towards healthcare projects at University of British Columbia; donated $2 million towards Mental Health Centre at Vancouver General Hospital; given funds for relief efforts following natural disasters including Hurricane Katrina in 2005; provided scholarships to students in need through his foundation's 'Jim Pattison Children's Foundation'; among other philanthropic efforts.

Over his career span of over five decades, Mr. Pattison has been honored multiple times by several institutions ranging from government entities to private associations for his exemplary contributions not only to business but also towards charity & philanthropy works. Some notable awards include Order of British Columbia 2018; Companion Of The Order Of Canada 2018; YPO Global Leadership Award 2011; BC Business Hall Of Fame 2009; International Entrepreneur Of The Year 2006 among few others.

In 1961 at age 25 years old Mr. Pattisons started with a single Pontiac dealership based in Vancouver “Pattison Motors” which later was renamed as “Ocean Park Ford”. Subsequently he added numerous other businesses such as convenience stores, radio stations, timberland holdings etc within few years. Later on he transformed these geographically diverse businesses into company now known as ‘The Jim Pattinson Group’ - which today owns several hundreds big & small businesses around globe.

Presently,The Jim Patterson group is lead by its founder Mr Paterson himself who also serves as its Chairman & CEO. His sons Doug Paterson and Ron Paterson have joined him full time while sone Bob Paterson leads several divisions within organization. His daughter Joan Paterson serves on board advisory bodies.
