What does JLK mean in UNCLASSIFIED

The Junior League of Knoxville (JLK) is a nonprofit organization focused on developing the potential of women and creating positive, lasting change in our community through direct action and leadership. We accomplish this by training members to become effective volunteers and leaders, while also raising funds for our charitable projects.

JLK helps many local organizations in our community by partnering with them to create sustainable initiatives that will improve their impact. We help local nonprofits with mentoring, fundraising, marketing, and communication projects; as well as collect items to donate to those in need. Additionally, we have a variety of Community Impact Grants available to partner organizations that need extra assistance with special projects or challenges.

JLK welcomes women who value collaboration, are committed to service, and passionate about making a difference in their communities. By becoming a member you will gain access to multiple opportunities for training and development, networking events and leadership roles within the organization– all while having fun! When you join JLK there is an annual membership fee required along with an initial one-time contribution fee ranging from $200-$500 depending on your current financial status. Upon joining, members will also be responsible for annual dues which can range between $270-$675 depending on category selection at the time of registration.

All members are asked to volunteer 24 hours each year as part of their commitment to JLK’s mission. These hours should be completed through various activities such as attending meetings and participating in events or helping out at one of our charitable service projects. There are also opportunities available outside normal meetings where volunteers can work towards their 24 hour goal as well.

With membership comes many exciting benefits that include networking events, professional development courses, inspiring keynote speakers and mentorship programs for new members just getting started! Additionally, core committee volunteers may receive discounted fees at certain events or voucher codes applicable towards special purchases made through the league’s online store.

Absolutely! Donations from non-members are always welcome and appreciated as they help fund various initiatives within our community. Monetary donations can be made directly on our website while in-kind donations such as clothing or personal care items should be dropped off during regular office hours at 1245 World’s Fair Park Drive.
