What does JHMG mean in SPORTS

Jackson Hole Mountain Guides (JHMG) is an American mountain guide service that specializes in custom climbing, backcountry skiing, trekking, and mountaineering experiences within the state of Wyoming's Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem. JHMG provides professional instruction and guiding for all skill levels and abilities.

To begin your journey with JHMG you may choose to contact us directly or register online to reserve a place on one of our guided trips. We provide personalized guidance throughout the entire journey to ensure maximum safety and enjoyment out in the field.

JHMG offers trips primarily throughout Wyoming's Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem, however we also offer other areas throughout the country upon request. Our knowledgeable guides have extensive experience in far-reaching destinations around the world.

Our guides are professional mountaineers who have received extra training in risk management and technical skills on both rock and snow, as well as avalanche forecasting, snow stability assessment, glacier travel, navigation and first aid/CPR skills. All of our guides have their AMGA certification.

That depends on the type of trip you will be going on. Generally speaking personal items such as a three-season sleeping bag, tent or groundsheet, five-day supply of clothing including rain gear should be included. Additionally we suggest necessary equipment such as crampons for ice/snow travel, harnesses for rock climbing trips etc. Your guide will discuss specific trip requirements during pre-trip preparations after booking your tour.

Transportation is available depending on the nature of your trip; private vehicle shuttles can be arranged for larger group excursions upon request. This service must be requested prior to departure date(s) as advanced notice may be required based on availability at locations visited during your tour/expedition/climb etc.

Meals are not included in our standard packages but can be purchased if desired ahead of time; breakfast meals can also be provided when requested before departure dates so that everyone can start off well fed! Please note that special dietary requests or restrictions must also be made known before hand with adequate notice given dependent upon when menu items need to be purchased and prepared prior to departure day(s).

Yes - We require that all participants must be at least 16 years old to join an expedition with JHMG due to safety considerations both from insurance requirements as well as physical demands placed upon younger individuals when engaging in extreme activities such as glacial skiing, high altitude mountaineering etc., although exceptions can possible be taken into consideration depending on the participant's level of experience outdoors knowledgebase plus any additional assistance they may already possess from previous instruction.[EDN]

Q: What happens if inclement weather intervenes during my trip?

A : In cases where weather prevents safe completion of your tour/expedition/climb etc., then alternate activities will take precedence which may include additional instructional courses,skill building drills or additional imagery acquisition sessions previously agreed upon between client(s) & guide prior to actual start date(s).
