About Williamsburg Jamestown Airport

Williamsburg Jamestown Airport (JGG) is a public use facility owned by the state of Virginia and managed by the Virginia Department of Aviation. Located 2 miles southeast of historic downtown Williamsburg, it covers an area of 300 acres of land. The airport has one asphalt runway measuring 5,000 feet in length by 100 feet in width with associated taxiways leading to its two active aprons for smaller aircrafts and a fuel farm at the main entrance gate on Witchduck Road. Overall there are three runways at JGG with plans to extend the primary runway length up to 6,500 feet in order to accommodate larger aircrafts like Boeing 737-800 or Airbus A320 series jets which are commonly used for domestic flights from Charlotte Douglas International Airport or Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport in DC. In addition to scheduled airline flight operations, JGG houses various businesses related to general aviation such as aircraft rentals, maintenance services, pilot training programs as well other recreational services like skydiving schools or hot air balloon rides over nearby coastal areas of Hampton Roads region in southeastern Virginia.
