What does JCRI mean in RESEARCH

The Jefferson Clinical Research Institute (JCRi) is a collaborative research arm of Thomas Jefferson University that focuses on cutting-edge clinical and translational research. We bring together a team of world-renowned scientific and medical thinkers, from basic science researchers in the laboratory to experts in data science, health policy, public health, implementation science, and more. All are unified in their mission to make discoveries that will improve human health.

JCRi focuses on clinical and translational research with a wide range of disciplines ranging from basic science to public health and implementation science. Our primary aim is to work collaboratively with our academic partners to uncover new knowledge and insights into better treatments for diseases such as cancer, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, infectious diseases including HIV/AIDS, mental health disorders, neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer’s Disease; rare diseases; age-related conditions; integrative medicine; nutritional studies; and public health.

At JCRi we leverage unique collaborations between various stakeholders — clinicians, basic scientists, data scientists, healthcare providers — to bridge the gap between what’s known scientifically and what can be provided in patient care settings. We focus on rapid expansion of research opportunities by creating an efficient process for investigators at both academic medical centers and private practices with a wide range of clinical trials expanding its areas of expertise.

Quality assurance is paramount at JCRi – we have dedicated teams across all areas to ensure compliance with Good Clinical Practices (GCP), regulatory standards and best practices in the clinical research field. We have integrated systems for data management and safety monitoring while conducting trials that adhere strictly to protocols outlined by both the institution's advisory board as well as government agencies such as the FDA or EMA when applicable.
