What does ISH mean in SOCIETIES

The International Society of Hypertension (ISH) is an organization dedicated to advancing global awareness, prevention and management of hypertension. It consists of over 7,000 members from more than 80 countries, who are working together to reduce the burden of high blood pressure worldwide.

ISH conducts both basic and clinical research in the field of hypertension and cardiovascular disease prevention and treatment. Our scientific program includes a wide range of studies including epidemiology, clinical trial designs, outcomes research, pathophysiology and basic science.

The biennial World Congress of Hypertension is organized by the ISH in collaboration with other international scientific societies including the European Society for Hypertension (ESH), American Heart Association (AHA), and others.

ISH offers a wide variety of activities throughout the year to promote global awareness about hypertension. These activities include lectures, educational programs, conferences, seminars, webinars and other activities aimed at enabling healthcare professionals to improve their skills in diagnosing and treating hypertension as well as educating patients on how to reduce their risk factors for hypertension.

Yes! ISH provides online learning opportunities for members to advance their knowledge through structured Faculty-led Courses or card-based tutorials depending on their learning preference. 

Every year, usually in May/June time frame around World Health Day on May 7th, The Global Awareness Days Campaign runs across many countries during one week focusing on different aspects related to awareness on Hypertension management. In addition to this initiative there are also national events across different countries co-organised with local collaborating bodies throughout the year.

Yes! Membership fees do vary depending upon country where you’re based out – rates may differ due to currency fluctuations & exchange rates which have another set rates for currencies such as US Dollars too.. Individual rate may apply if you belong from low-income & lower middle-income countries.
