What does ISD mean in SCHOOLS

The International School of Dakar (ISD) is a private, non-profit, co-educational day school, offering high quality international education from Pre-K through 12th grade. ISD provides students with an exemplary foundation in academics, the arts and athletics to prepare them for success at universities around the world.

ISD follows an IB World School curriculum. We have authorized programs for Primary Years Program (PYP), Middle Years Program (MYP) and Diploma Program (DP). In addition to these IB curricula, ISD offers a wide range of American Advanced Placement courses as well as an array of Integrated Studies Courses that are unique to our school.

ISD warmly welcomes applications from students with diverse backgrounds and nationalities. We believe that having a diverse student body contributes greatly to the learning environment here at our school.

Any student who is 4 or 5 years old by September 1st can apply for admission into our Early Childhood program. Students PreK - Grade 6 who have completed the required approved courses may be admitted directly into the respective grade level depending on space availability and assessment results where applicable.

Yes. It is preferable that all students entering KG2 – Grade 12 should have basic English language skills already acquired either through exposure or previous schooling prior to entry into our school.

ISD currently employs over 100 certified teachers from around the world, including USA, Europe and Africa, many of whom hold advanced degrees in their areas of expertise.
