What does IOM mean in UNITED NATIONS

The International Organisation for Migration (IOM) is an intergovernmental organisation that provides services and advice pertaining to international migration and mobility. It works with governmental, intergovernmental and non-governmental partners in the fields of migration management, migration health and migrant protection.

IOM has three main objectives; firstly, to promote national or international development through increased labour mobility, secondly, to improve understanding on issues related to immigration, thirdly, mitigate hardships faced by migrants.
