History
Auburn University's Harrison School of Pharmacy was founded by Dr. Charles A. Carmichael in 1885 as the first professional school within Auburn University and the fourth pharmaceutical college to be established in the United States. In 1918, it moved to its current location on West Magnolia Avenue and became part of Auburn University's College of Agriculture, later named the College of Sciences and Mathematics. In 1949, it began offering bachelor’s degrees with four options: Pharmacy, Medical Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry, and Industrial Administration. By 1975, it had become fully accredited by ACPE's standards for entry-level pharmacy practice education.
