What does ALC mean in COUNCIL

The Agent Leadership Council (ALC) is a committee of representatives from Air Canada's four major flight attendant bases (YVR, YYC, YUL, and YYZ). Their role is to provide feedback and advice to the company regarding the professional interests of our flight attendants. It serves as a liaison between management and employee groups, allowing for effective communication in order to resolve conflicts and develop programs that better serve the needs of flight attendants.

Members of the ALC are responsible for representing their respective base's flight attendants' interests. They serve as a conduit between management and employee groups, providing feedback on workplace issues, policies, and procedures. Additionally, they work with management to review grievances, develop new initiatives that benefit employees, and communicate important updates for their respective base back to its members.

The ALC generally meets once per month when there are items to discuss or if an urgent situation arises. However, individual council members always remain available should any questions arise in between meetings that cannot wait.

During each meeting all four base representatives may take part in full discussions along with any invited guest speakers or special guests (who may include union representatives or members of senior management). In addition to this core group, any observer may provide input on specific issues during designated discussion periods as needed.

The topics addressed by the ALC vary depending on what is relevant at any given time; however some common topics include benefits & compensation packages for flight attendants; changes in work policies; grievances & disputes; uniform tips & trends; training & education opportunities; new duty assignments & job tasks; recognition initiatives; professional development opportunities; etc.

There are several options available such as attending open house meetings hosted by your local Flight Attendant Base Representative or participating in surveys conducted by your Union or Air Canada directly. Additionally you can reach out directly via email to one of your base's board representatives who will do their best to ensure your thoughts and opinions are taken into consideration when decisions are made within the organization.

Yes - only officials representing each base on the council may take part in full discussions along with invited guests or special advisors (such as union representatives or members of senior management). Observers from other bases may add input during certain allotted times but not throughout general discussion periods among active participants.

No - only matters which affect more than one base must be agreed upon unanimously before decisions can be made and implemented within Air Canada's policy/procedure structure. All other matters discussed pertaining solely to one particular base need only receive majority consent from those present at said meeting before being finalized accordingly.
