What does HCAC mean in CONFERENCES

The Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) is an NCAA Division III conference that was established in 1999. It is composed of 11 institutions located in Indiana, Kentucky, and Ohio. The HCAC sponsors 20 sports programs (10 men's and 10 women's) that compete at the highest level of intercollegiate athletics.

The current member institutions of the HCAC are Anderson University, Bluffton University, Defiance College, Earlham College, Franklin College, Hanover College, Manchester University, Mount St. Joseph University, Rose—Hulman Institute of Technology, Transylvania University and Wilmington College.

Yes! Member institutions of the HCAC offer both athletic and academic scholarships to eligible student athletes who qualify for them. Each school sets its own criteria for awarding these scholarships and they can vary from institution to institution.

The SAAPEprogram recognizes outstanding achievement by student athletes participating in intercollegiate athletics at members institutions. To be eligible for recognition a student athlete must have achieved a 3.25 cumulative grade point average or higher for a full athletic year (two semesters or three quarters).

The regular season starts in September with Fall sports such as football and soccer and ends with Spring sports such as golf and track & field in late April/early May. All other Fall/Winter/Spring seasons follow this same timeline according to their respective sport schedules.

Since its formation in 1999, Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference teams have won 41 National Championships across all its sponsored sports programs; 22 team championships and 19 individual championships. These championships span multiple years since 2000 up to 2020.

The Commissioner's Council is responsible for administering rules concerning eligibility standards; interim suspensions; financial aid regulations; recruiting regulations; amateurism requirements; pre-season practice sessions; game management procedures; awards including All-Conference awards and postseason tournament qualifications; schedules for intercollegiate competition; dispute resolution procedures; ethics policies related to coaches/institutional administrators' roles in administering these rules among other key issues maintained by theconference offices.

Every year at the end of each sport season, players are recognized with prestigious awards that recognize their performance throughout the year including Player Of The Year Award which recognizes the best overall performer across all men's and women's sports sponsored by HCAC; Coach OfThe Year Award which honors a coach who has had an exceptional results on his/her team during past season across all men's and women's sports sponsored by HLH as well as All-Academic Team Awards which recognize student athletes who attained high levels of academic success while also maintaining above average playing performances throughout the season.
